The American
Camping Association (ACA) has been conducting research about the
benefits of camping for persons of all ages for many years. In
addition, the ACA is known for their process of accrediting camps;
day and residential and trip camping. To be accredited
programs need to address standards covering, Site and Food Service,
Transportation, Health and Wellness, Operational Management, Human
Resources, Program Design and Activities including speciality
activities such as; Aquatics,Adventure and Challenge Courses. All Stepping Stones camping programs have
been accredited with ACA since they were introduced to our
community.

Services
Allyn Residential Camp
Residential camping opportunities are available for individuals age
6 and up. Campers participate in crafts, swimming,
hiking, nature, sports and motor activities. Camp sessions
range from 3 to 10 days, are theme oriented, and geared to
individual abilities and interests.
Summer Day Camp
Co-educational day camps for individuals (ages 5-22) with disabilities and their
typical peers. The nine week camps are offered Monday through Friday,
9 a.m. - 3 p.m. at Stepping Stones Center in Indian Hill
and Camp Allyn in Batavia. Campers are placed in units according
to age, special needs, interests and abilities.
Activities include
swimming, nature, crafts, music, sports and motor development.
Fees may be adjusted for some services and some are eligible for
Family Resources or Dept. of Job and Family Service Child Care
Vouchers, Level One Wavier or Independent Options Waiver.
No one shall be denied services because of
race, color, national origin, religion, sex, disability, or age.
